Absolute Serenity and Unspoiled Northern Lakes and Forests
Un-fished waters; lakes with no names that teem with Walleye, Northern Pike and Lake Trout; silence; loons calling in the misty dawn. Your biggest decision – which lure to use. And when to call it quits because your arms are tired from pulling in fish – big fish!
After many years of operation, Wheeler River Lodge is proud of our reputation as one of Saskatchewan’s first class fishing destinations. There is an excellent chance to land all of our five species (Walleye, Northern Pike, Lake Trout, Arctic Grayling and Whitefish) in a single day. With miles of water access from our river system as well as several walk-in lakes, you'll find it impossible to fish all our waters on your first trip. That's one of the reasons many of our guests return year after year.
Hunting, angling and trapping licences are available through HAL … that’s the government’s hunting, angling and trapping licence system.
Create a HAL ID (Hunting/Angling License) before purchasing the license.
Saskatchewan Trophy Black Bear Hunts - Excellent bear opportunities with the bonus of fantastic
Tree stands or spot and stalk – whatever your preference.
Moose hunters will enjoy this wilderness paradise. Un-hunted populations enable trophy-size bulls to reach sizes that make the record books. There is virtually no other hunting in the area surrounding the lodge. Kevin estimates that they have several hundred square miles at their disposal for their moose hunts.

Guide / Caretaker
Quinn, our guide and caretaker, is the second generation of the
Mahoney family to work at the lodge. Having spent each summer at
the Wheeler with his Dad, Quinn knows every unnamed lake and hiding
spot that has produced lunkers for many years and will ensure that
you catch fish whose replicas will remain lifetime trophies –
in your mind and on your wall.
Kevin and Cheryl Rowswell have welcomed visiting guests for many years to their hunting and fishing operations. The Rowswells run two separate operations. Their son, Jordan and his wife, Kendra, own and operate 12 Gauge Outfitting Ltd for a unique waterfowl experience, while Kevin and Cheryl run Wheeler River Lodge.
Wheeler River Lodge offers incredible fishing as well as hunting for black bear. Kevin and Cheryl are very proud of their beautiful fishing and hunting camp on the Wheeler River. This total wilderness experience offers the finest opportunity to get away from the hustle and bustle.
